Planning your trip

How Do I Choose My Itinerary?

At Instinct Tours Tanzania, our itineraries are built on decades of guiding experience, a deep understanding of seasonal wildlife movements, and strong connections with local communities. We’ve refined a route that delivers the very best of northern Tanzania — and we’ll adjust it to fit your preferences, interests, and travel dates.

A Safari Route Refined by Decades of Experience

Your journey begins when you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After a warm welcome, you’ll transfer to a comfortable lodge in Arusha to rest — with the option to add extra nights if you’d like more time to relax.

From there, our standard safari route takes you through:

Tarangire National Park (1–3 nights) – Famous for massive baobab trees and one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations, Tarangire offers an unforgettable start to your safari.

Ngorongoro Crater – Spend a full day on the crater floor, surrounded by an incredible concentration of wildlife in one of the most unique ecosystems on Earth.

Serengeti National Park – The crown jewel of your safari. Depending on the season and your preferences, you might spend 1–several nights here, exploring Central and/or Northern Serengeti for abundant wildlife, including the Big Five.

Along the way, we may include:

A Maasai village visit near Karatu, where Makinda knows the chief personally.

Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important archaeological sites.

A relaxed lunch stop at a favorite lodge before returning to Arusha.

Flexible and Personalized

Our standard route is a trusted starting point, but your safari can be as flexible as you wish. Add extra Serengeti nights, incorporate cultural experiences, or even extend your adventure to Zanzibar or Mount Kilimanjaro. Whatever your vision, we’ll shape an itinerary that’s uniquely yours — without sacrificing the efficiency, comfort, and unforgettable wildlife encounters that make Instinct Tours special.
